After 20yrs of building global products, I've learned successful stakeholder management is really: successful cross-functional collaboration and leadership. Being a Product Manager/Leader, you may already be accustomed to working with Development, Design and Business stakeholders (not to mention Data/Analytics, User Research or Customer Support). However, depending on how you approach this - it can either feel like you're drowning, in the middle of an information storm, or alternatively, that you're the middle of an elite, multi-disciplinary team of missionaries, successfully creating delightful product experiences. In this short talk, I'd like to share my own learnings in this space, from ways to build better cross-functional relationships, to optimising cross-function work-flows (esp. with artefact/document check-ins), through to learning together from your outputs/outcomes (ultimately customer data, answers stakeholder debate).
